About BAP

The move into NHS informatics followed a career in engineering, software writing and small business support. Starting in reporting, work progressed into supporting the 18-weeks project, carrying out pioneering analysis and authoring some of the 18-week process.

After a succession of contracts supporting various PCTs, work has now been carried out for Acute, Community and Mental Health Trusts as well as working for NHS area services and NHS Central.

Positions held have included a range of analysis and reporting positions including departmental, functional and de-facto project management.

Areas worked have included inpatient, outpatient, A&E, trauma, stroke, critical care, theatres, district nursing, mental health, laboratory information, maternity, governance and others.

A number of different EPR/PAS have been used along with many other applications. Most development has been carried out with Microsoft SQL related applications and systems although others have have been experienced including Cache and Access!

Expertise includes data-mining, reverse-engineering, re-architecting as well as more conventional database work. Also Excel and some programming languages. However, history shows that anything new is quickly mastered.
